This session is for nurses who have completed, or are currently enrolled in SANE or Forensic Nurse Training. Training will include a review of each nurse’s curriculum vitae and an opportunity to participate in mock trial scenarios with both prosecutors and defense attorneys. Nurses will gain an understanding of the courtroom process, become familiar with terms used in trial, learn about jury education, and practice testimony in an actual courtroom setting. The day will begin at the Sheriff’s Department and after lunch, nurses will meet in the courtroom to observe skilled nurse testimony and practice their skills.
