This session is a two-day intensive for Registered Nurses and advanced practice providers who have previously completed the Pediatric Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner didactic course. This course will offer a comprehensive review of pediatric anogenital anatomy, normal and abnormal variants, the medical forensic examination process, forensic techniques and evidence collection, non-acute medical examinations for child sexual abuse patients, documentation responsibilities as well as developing care plans and appropriate referrals for child victims of sexual abuse. The course will also feature several case studies and mock examination scenarios with simulated hands-on practice.

This training fee is $75, but nurses eligible Indiana SANEs will receive funding support to attend at no cost from the Indiana SANE Training Project, and priority will be given to rural and underserved communities who have recently completed pediatric SANE training and will begin offering pediatric SANE services in 2020. Registration is limited.
