June 17, 2024 Medical and Legal Aspects of Traumatic Strangulation and Trial Preparation Course

Participants will learn how to identify injuries, including the possibility of internal injuries that require prompt recognition and intervention. Legal definitions and implications surrounding strangulation are discussed, along with the need for accurate documentation, investigation practices, and legal proceedings.

This course is a joint venture between many community partners, including the West Central Chapter 501 Emergency Nurses Association, Indiana University Health West Central Region Center of Hope, Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence, several Tippecanoe County prosecutors, EMS services, law enforcement, and others.

CEs will be provided through ENA, Continuing Legal Education (CLEs) and Law enforcement CEs provided through the Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence (ICADV).
