Peter M. Antevy, MD is a Pediatric Emergency Medicine physician practicing in-hospital emergency care at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in South Florida. Board-certified in pediatrics, emergency medicine, and the complex subspecialty of EMS, he serves as the Medical Director for Davie Fire-Rescue, Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department, and Southwest Ranches Fire Rescue. Dr. Antevy also serves as Associate Medical Director for Palm Beach County and Brevard County, Florida.

Jessica has had a career in emergency nursing for 7 years, though she started at CHLA as a NICCU nurse for 2 years prior. She has been an advocate for the neonatal population within the ED since her transition, and she currently lectures new staff on neonatal emergencies at CHLA regularly throughout the year. She is also spearheading the expansion of ultrasound guided PIV training amongst the nursing staff at CHLA within her department in conjunction with the vascular access team.

Zach Bowers is a Paramedic with the Brownsburg Fire Territory. He has been employed with the BFT and currently holds the rank of Division Chief of EMS. He began his EMS career as a Junior in high school, earning his EMT certification in 2000 and then his paramedic license in 2006. He has experience working with volunteer, private, suburban and urban EMS systems.

Deena Brecher MSN, RN, ACNS-BC, CEN, CPEN, FAEN has a passion for patient safety and pediatric care. She the Chief Nursing Officer at Mednition, an AI company that empowers emergency nurses at triage.
Deena earned a certificate in prehospital emergency care from the Center for Emergency Medicine in 1994. She earned her BSN from the University of Pittsburgh in 1997 and her MSN as an emergency care clinical nurse specialist at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston in 2004. She has held numerous leadership positions in ENA, most notably serving as ENA National President in 2014. -

Tiffany Davis is the injury prevention program coordinator at IU Health Methodist Hospital. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Franklin College and received a Master of Public Health Degree from IU’s Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health. Her work revolves around fall prevention for older adults, traffic safety, and violence prevention. Tiffany has also taught injury prevention topics to undergraduate students at IU Indianapolis since 2019. Tiffany’s passions include injury prevention research, mentoring the future professional field for injury prevention, building relationships, and creating sustainable, multi-faceted programs.

Tyler Delph was born and raised in Lebanon, IN, and now lives nearby in Whitestown, IN with his wife, two sons, and Shepherd named Sadie. He has been a registered nurse for six years and currently serves as a nurse navigator for the trauma and acute care surgery team at the IU Health Methodist Hospital in downtown Indianapolis. He specializes in orthopedics, general surgery, and trauma. In his free time, Tyler enjoys completing home improvement projects and making homemade ice cream.

Samatha graduated from the University of Indianapolis with her BSN in 2011. She became a registered nurse at IU Health Methodist Emergency Medicine Trauma Center after graduation and has held several roles within the department. For the past 4 years, she has been a Manager of Clinical Operations for the EMTC. She is a member of the ENA and holds her CEN and TCRN. Samantha has had an increased focus on team member wellness post COVID, focusing on post-event pauses, workplace violence initiatives, and partnering with interdisciplinary teams to improve staff morale.

Stephanie Egler has been a registered nurse for 27 years. Over the course of her career, she has worked in many different areas, including cardiac, emergency room, pediatrics, school nursing, and teaching in academia. However, the vast majority of her experience has been in pediatrics. Presently, Nurse Egler is the Clinical Education Specialist for pediatrics for Community Health Network.

Jeff Egnatovich has been in the healthcare industry for over 25 years. He started as a paramedic providing patient care in the 911 setting. Although Jeff enjoyed providing patient care, he later became interested in the administrative side of healthcare. He worked as a manager in the NJ State Department of Health and returned to school to complete his RN and MBA. He continued his clinical practice in the ICU, Emergency Department, and Medevac settings. He has since finished his doctorate (Ed.D) in Higher Education and presented his research in paramedicine at the International Roundtable of Community Paramedicine in Nottingham, England.
Jeff has been a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) for over ten years and has served as a board member in the NJ chapter, including as chapter president. Jeff is the Healthcare Administration Program Coordinator at Caldwell University and has been with the program since its inception in 2016. He also works at Hackensack Meridian Health as a nursing supervisor and critical care transport nurse/paramedic and at Penn Medicine at Princeton as a nursing supervisor. -
Tom Fentress, EMS Director (Methodist Hospitals) & Fire Chief (Keener Twp. Fire Dept), holds an MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University and a bachelor’s in education from Purdue University. He's a certified Paramedic and a firefighter at state and national levels. His research focuses on EMS adult learning, and leadership, with published papers and roles as a content reviewer. Ryan Gentilcore, Senior Lead Educator at Handtevy, brings extensive expertise to shaping and implementing the company's nationally acclaimed education program. His influence spans the United States, having certified over 2,300 paramedics to date. In recognition of his unwavering dedication to advancing EMS education, Ryan received the 2020 Mike Murphy Innovator of the Year Award from the Broward County Fire Chiefs Association. Amanda Gill, MSN, RNC-OB earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Southern Indiana in 2002 followed by her Master of Science in Nursing Leadership and Management from Western Governor’s University in 2022. She has over 20 years of Level III obstetrical nursing experience and currently serves as the Simulation Outreach Educator at Franciscan Health Indianapolis. She facilitates simulation-based learning for both hospital and community-based interprofessional healthcare groups to better prepare individuals for high-risk low occurrence scenarios to improve patient outcomes. As a co-author of Franciscan’s OB & Neonatal Emergencies for EMS course, Amanda continues to take this class to various fire and EMS departments to improve obstetric and neonatal knowledge and safety in the field. Serving as a champion for women’s healthcare, Amanda served as a Co-Chair for IPATH (Indiana Protection of Abused & Trafficked Humans Taskforce) Healthcare Working Group 2020 to 2022 and provides education on human trafficking and trauma informed care to healthcare professionals.

Josee boasts over two decades of experience in the healthcare industry. Her journey began as a CNA at 16, and she subsequently earned her paramedic license in 2010. Throughout her EMS career, she has worked across diverse settings, including fire-based EMS, within the emergency department as an educator and supervisor. In 2020, she earned her BSN, followed by her MSN in 2024. Currently, Josee serves as an RN in a Level III NICU and holds the position of clinical educator of simulation, specializing in experiential learning. Notably, she co-authored 'Franciscan's OB and Neonatal Emergencies for EMS' and received recognition from the Indiana Emergency Medical Services Children in 2018 for her work in developing the first EMS protocol for safe pediatric transport in Central Indiana.

Garrett Hedeen is currently an EMS Safety Specialist at Austin Travis County EMS. He previously served as Manager of EMS for Indiana University Health Bloomington EMS and as an EMS Safety Officer for Indianapolis EMS, as well as a field training officer and adjunct educator. As an Indiana certified primary instructor, Garrett has taught many different EMS disciplines, both clinical and operational.
He has been an EMS advocate in many forms and was awarded the 2017 NAEMT EMS Advocate of the Year Award. He served as EMS Union President for an IAFF local and has served on the Board of NAEMT and the Indiana EMS Association in numerous positions over the years.
Garrett's passion is EMS safety. He has a Masters in Occupational Health and Safety Management (his second, the other Masters is in Health Administration), is a NAEMT EMS Safety Course instructor, serves as Chairman of the NAEMT EMS Workforce committee, and is the NAEMT representative on the National Safety Council and NFPA Emergency Responder Occupational Health Technical Committee. Garrett is also an Eagle Scout. -
Zachary has taken his career as an emergency and critical care transport nurse to the classroom teaching Complex Medical-Surgical Nursing. Starting his career as an EMT for a local volunteer fire department, Zachary transitioned to work in a Level II Trauma Center Emergency Department. Zachary returned to school and obtained his first nursing degree in 2016. Since then, Zachary has continued his educational journey by obtaining graduate degrees in both Nursing Administration and Business Administration. Zachary has had the pleasure of teaching both national and international military, law enforcement, and paramedics tactical operator medical support.

Zach started his EMS career in 2009, starting as an EMT on a volunteer service, then advancing to a Paramedic. He has experience in high volume 911 services, as well as critical care transport services. He currently works as a Flight Paramedic with Air Methods. Dr. Howard is the Director of Scholarship and Leadership Resources at Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing (Sigma). While also serving as adjunct faculty at Northern Kentucky University and the University of Southern Indiana, Dr. Howard continues to work as a staff nurse in his clinical specialty of emergency nursing in two hospitals in Southern Indiana. His nursing career has taken him from stretcher-side nursing to academia and back. He serves on several local, national, and international councils and nursing associations. Dr. Howard’s doctoral work involves increasing communication to decrease incivility and bullying.

Kele Ivey started her healthcare career when she took an EMT class after graduating high school. Over the next 20 years, she went on to become a paramedic and a critical care paramedic. She has worked in emergency response coverage, acute and non-acute transport services, and industrial settings. Kele then went to nursing school and began working in an emergency department. It was there that she learned about forensic nursing and realized that was what she wanted to do when she grew up. Kele is currently the SANE program manager of STAR Center, a sexual assault and forensic nursing program based out of Methodist Hospitals Northlake Campus in Gary, IN.

Aaron has been a paramedic for 24 years and has taught EMS for 17 years. He has developed ways to reduce the cost of teaching medical education. Aaron has continued contributing to pre-hospital care as a Paramedic/Firefighter and teaches medical education. These courses include certification, difficult airway, full-scale scenario-based, and online education. His contribution has resulted in furthering skills for first responders, hospital providers, and youth education.

Assistant Chief Corey Johnson serves the Williston Fire Department in North Dakota. As Assistant Chief, he oversees the operations of four fire-based EMS stations. Chief Johnson has 17 years of experience in emergency services, is an EMS Instructor Coordinator for entry-level EMS programs, and is the state coordinator for NAEMT training programs. Chief Johnson is part of the Williams County HazMat Response Team and the North Dakota Incident Management Support Team. Before accepting his position in Williston, he was a Paramedic Supervisor for a regional ALS service in western Pennsylvania and was a team member of the Pennsylvania EMS Strike Team.

Michael Kaduce, MPS, NRP is the director of the Falck Health Institute, where he leads the initial education initiatives for Falck. Michael began his EMS journey as an EMT in Iowa and later became a paramedic/firefighter for the Urbandale Fire Department. After four years, Michael became an EMS Educator at the University of Iowa, providing EMT and paramedic initial and continuing education. Michael then joined the UCLA Center for Prehospital Care at the David Geffen School of Medicine as the EMT program director, overseeing the country's largest EMT education program for 6 years. He has a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Master of Professional Studies in Homeland Security and Public Health. Michael has been published on prehospital patient care and EMS educational best practices and serves as an author for the most widely used EMT and paramedic textbooks. Michael is the West Coast representative for the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians Board of Directors and has taught NAEMT courses around the globe. Michael is also a research associate for the UCLA Prehospital Care Research Forum.

Lori Kelsheimer is one of the Performance Improvement Coordinators for IU Health Methodist Hospital. She has been a nurse since 2001, beginning her career in the emergency department. She worked in the Methodist EMTC for 19 years and the Bloomington ED for 3 years before moving to Trauma Services where she has worked for the past 2 years. Lori holds her CEN certification and is a current member of ENA, ANA and STN. Lori currently holds a PRN position at IMS and is a travel nurse with IndyCar.

Since 2020, Kraig Kinney has served as the State of Indiana Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Director. He has been in EMS since 1991, maintains current EMT, paramedic and EMS instructor credentials.
Kinney has his B.A. from DePauw University and Doctor of Jurisprudence from Indiana University McKinney School of Law-Indianapolis. Director Kinney has been an Indiana licensed attorney since 1998.
Kinney is active in national EMS as the Commission Chairperson of the EMS Compact, a board member of the National Registry of EMTs and as the Great Lake chairperson and board member of the National Association of State EMS Officials (NASEMSO). -
Dr. Lash worked as an ED nurse and educator for 10 years and currently serves as a Nurse Scientist at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. She has taught in undergraduate nursing programs and worked in nursing professional development, education, and research promoting inquiry and clinical excellence among nurses in both community and academic medical centers. Her primary area of inquiry is improving the care of emergency department special populations including patients with cancer and pediatric mental/behavioral health patients.

Kym Laube is the Executive Director of Human Understanding Growth Services, Inc., (HUGS, Inc.), located in Westhampton Beach, NY. In this position she brings over 33 years of community engagement and substance prevention knowledge and expertise. HUGS, Inc., provides a full array of multidimensional prevention services and recovery supports.
Kym is active on various local, state and national boards and task forces. She served on the NYS Governor’s Opiate Task Force, creating statewide policy change in prescribing laws. Most notable is her personal recovery of over 34 years and commitment to push individuals to make the space better wherever they are. -
Amber Lee is the Trauma & Acute Care Surgery Administrative Coordinator at IU Health Methodist Hospital since 2022. Amber received her Master’s Degree in Public Health Administration and a graduate certificate in Sexual and Reproductive Health in 2022 from Indiana University Bloomington. Amber is passionate about spreading awareness surrounding disparities among minorities in the health field, advocating for equitable access, and quality outcomes for all.

Dr. Marshall holds a BSN from the University of Miami, an MN from Emory University, and a PhD in Higher Education from the University of Miami. Dr. Marshall previously held a variety of faculty and administration positions while at the University of Miami School of Nursing where she taught for 26 years before leaving to pursue a consultative career in nursing education, evidence-based practice, research/grants, and career development and management. She most recently received the Florida Nurse Association ICON award for Mentorship in 2019.
Dr. Marshall is the Lead Advisor for the Sigma Theta Tau International Career Center and the author of Take Charge of Your Nursing Career (Sigma Theta Tau International, 2022), the book for nurses across the lifespan of their careers and the recipient of an AJN Book Award for 2022.
Dr. Marshall’s other current work includes several volunteer projects for Sigma Theta Tau International, including being Lead, Virtual Academy, Writing for Publication; Editor, Elsevier’s Evidence-Based Nursing Monographs, research monographs for best practices for bedside nurses; Editor, Research Column, Journal of Radiology Nursing; Chair, FNA Research SIG Committee; Member, FNA Membership Committee; Working with faculty (faculty development workshops) on topics related to all things nursing education; and Speaker on diverse topics, internationally, nationally, and statewide, from developing and submitting abstracts and grants, to all areas career development and management, and all things NCLEX/Next Generation Licensure Examination.
Dr. Marshall also actively teaches nursing courses at all levels for several university schools of nursing.
Dr. Marshall’s research expertise is on all things test taking and NCLEX. She developed and teaches her own review course nationally and internationally and has been assisting students to enhance their successes on nursing exams and the licensure exam, in all its iterations, for over 40 years. Her doctoral dissertation was on “Variables that Predict Success on the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses.” She currently offers a monthly NGN and Test Taking Strategy Course for Sigma, free for all nursing students globally, as well as working with individual students and schools of nursing. -
Thomas McDorr has been a chaplain since 2017, beginning his career at Methodist Hospital. Thomas completed his Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) internship in the summer of 2017 at Methodist Hospital and completed a one-year CPE residency at Riley Children’s Hospital and University Hospital. After completing his residency, Thomas started a one-year Chaplaincy Fellowship with the Trauma Services team at Methodist Hospital. Thomas has served as the Trauma Services Chaplain since completing his fellowship in 2020. Thomas earned his Master of Divinity degree from Wesley Seminary and the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) Board Certification in Chaplaincy.

Jeremey is a graduate of Indiana University with twenty-five years of leadership experience in both EMS and pastoral ministry. Jeremey has served in multiple roles including supervisor, field training coordinator, clinical educator, youth minister, children’s pastor, and associate pastor. He currently serves as the division manager for Amerimed EMS in Indianapolis. With an extensive knowledge of EMS, and passion for people development, workplace culture, and organizational health, Jeremey combines his years of EMS and ministry experience to bring a new perspective on leadership to healthcare.

Erin has a nursing background in Pediatric Critical Care and currently works as a critical care transport RN for the pediatric/neonatal specialty transport team for Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, IN. Erin is interested in educational outreach for community sites and assisted in establishing the Pediatric Community Outreach Mobile Education (PCOME). Erin has helped in improving the quality of care provided to ill children in the emergency departments in the state of Indiana by providing in-situ high fidelity simulation visits to educate and train community hospital EDs in the state to provide optimal care to ill children. She has served as the program manager for the PCOME program and has established and developed relationships with 28 community hospitals throughout the state of Indiana. Erin is the Indiana site coordinator for the ImPACTS (Improving Pediatric Acute Care Through Simulation) consortium as the lead site on the multicenter improvement collaborative.

Trent Moser has been in nursing for approximately 19 years and has a nursing background in Pulmonary Medicine, Thoracic Surgery and Emergency Medicine. Currently, Trent is the Clinical Nurse Educator in the Emergency Department and Trauma Centre Located at the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary, Albera. Trent also has a background in EMS, working as a Paramedic and ended his EMS career after transitioning to nursing and after attending too many MVCs in -40 degree Celsius (- 40 F). Trent currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Canadian National Emergency Nurses Association (NENA) and is the Past President for the provincial NENA chapter.

I have worked in Emergency response since 1991. I started as a Volunteer Firefighter in 1991. I became a Basic EMT in 1993, moving up to advanced EMT in 1993. I worked in the Private Ambulance sector for 3 years at Community EMS in St. Joseph County Indiana. I was hired by South Bend Fire Department in 1995. I was sent to paramedic school and certified in 1996. I also worked part time at Notre Dame Fire Department, Memorial Hospital Mobile ICU transport. I also worked as a flight Medic for Air Angels and Memorial MedFlight. I worked my way through the fire department ranks. 1998 I promoted to EMS Lieutenant, 2007 I was promoted to the Rank of Captain. In 2012 I was appointed Assistant Fire Chief / EMS Division.

Douglas Randell, BS, NRP, is the Director of Operations for Communicate & DOCUMENT, LLC, an EMS speakers' bureau and education consulting company. As an experienced EMS provider for over 25 years, Douglas has extensive experience as an EMS Training Officer and Division Chief of EMS, overseeing EMS Operations. Douglas is a researcher, who's published and award winning with a Nationally-distributed podcast as host of The EMS P.O.D. with Chief Randell. Paula’s career includes ER and Forensic Nursing as a care provider, educator and leader. Paula is an avid EMS supporter. She currently serves as IU School of Nursing Faculty. Curiosity about resilience and the impact of trauma on goal achievement led her to complete extensive training as a wellness/life coach. She developed SCORE Strategy for Success as her framework for coaching, Paula recently became one of the recipients of a collaborative 1.3 million dollar HRSA grant which includes providing resilience coaching for RNs taking the IUHealth/IU School of Nursing Forensic Nurse SANE course and evaluating those outcomes.

Dennis L. Rubin’s fire and rescue experience spans more than 40 years. Rubin has served as a line firefighter/EMT, company officer, staff officer, command officer, and chief of department. Currently he serves as the Fire Chief with the Kansas City Kansas Fire Department.
Chief Rubin’s educational accomplishments include a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Waldorf University, a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Fire Administration from the University of Maryland, and an Associates in Applied Science Degree in Fire Science Management from the Northern Virginia Community College. Rubin is a graduate of the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer Program (EFOP) and the Naval Post Graduate School’s Executive Leadership Course in Homeland Security. Rubin is a certified incident safety officer (ISO) and has obtained the Chief Fire Officer Designation (CFO) and Chief Emergency Medical Officer Designation (CEMSO) bestowed by the Center for Public Safety Excellence. Rubin is a nationally registered emergency medical technician.
Rubin is a popular lecturer at local, state, national, and international venues. Rubin’s teaching credentials are significant. Rubin was an adjunct faculty member with several state fire-rescue training agencies and is currently a part-time faculty member at the National Fire Academy. Ru-bin has been a member of seven National Fire Academy course development teams. Included among the development teams that Rubin has served on are Incident Command, Leadership, Infection Control for the Fire Service, Incident Safety Officer, and Tactical Operations.
In 1994, Rubin was the President of the Virginia Fire Chiefs Association. Chief Rubin was the host fire chief for the Southeastern Fire Chiefs As-sociation Conference. He was appointed to several committees with the International Association of Fire Chiefs, including a two-year term as the Safety Committee and Program Committee chairs. For the past 30 years, Rubin was the chair for the National Wingspread Strategic Planning Conference.
Rubin is the author of several emergency service textbooks all published by Fire Engineering Books. Rubin’s first release is entitled Rube’s Rules for Survival. This book is a collection of case studies dealing with the mission critical topic of fire fighter safety. The next book that Rubin released was D.C. Fire discussing his four years as the fire chief of our Nation’s Capital. Rubin’s third textbook is It’s Always About Leader-ship. The focus of this text is on leadership rules for all ranks. A fourth text under contract with Fire Engineering Books and is titled, Choosing to Command. This textbook is scheduled for release in late 2024. Chief Rubin contributes to several fire-rescue service publications and has written more than 200 technical articles relating to fire-rescue department operations, administration, emergency management, training, & safety. -
Michelle has been a nurse for 31 years; she has worked as a staff nurse and as a nursing manager in both the Emergency Department and Urgent Care setting. For the past 5 years her role has been Clinical Education Coordinator. She became a Certified Emergency Nurse in 2009 and became certified in Nursing Professional Development in December 2023. Michelle has presented posters locally and nationally at ENA Conferences and at the Association for Nursing Professional Development Convention. In her current role she works with all the nursing units at Hendricks Regional Health to plan annual unit competencies, which is the topic she will present today.

Lauren has been a nurse for 23yrs, graduating from Indiana University School of Nursing. Majority of her background has been in Emergency Medicine with some Critical Care experience prior to that. She has been working the last 19yrs at Hendricks Regional Health, in their Emergency Dept, as a charge nurse and currently as a Shift Coordinator and PECC for the hospital. She is also a consultant for the ImPACTS team. She found her passion to be Emergency Care to the Pediatric Population in 2016 when she had firsthand experience of gaps in care at her hospital. She has diligently worked to improve those gaps by creating action plans through a multidisciplinary task force and later creating a Pediatric Care Collaborative that she chairs at the organization. She led the initiative to become Pediatric Ready and this past May her hospital became the first non-children's hospital and third hospital in the state, to be designated as "Pediatric Ready" through iEMSC.

Mike has been involved with EMS since 1986 with experience as a volunteer, private provider, County 911, Emergency Department, Fire based EMS, Helicopter EMS, EMS Educator, Conference Speaker Legal Consultant and Author. Mike recently retired after 27 years as a paramedic/firefighter/EMS Coordinator with the City of Grandview Heights, Ohio, Division of Fire. Mike is currently employed as a Lead Paramedic instructor and Community Paramedic Coordinator for Ohio Health EMS. “Mike’s unique sense of humor and clinical knowledge make him an ideal educator.”

Leah Tilden is the Assessment Development Manager at Fisdap, with over 20 years of EMS experience and over 15 years in EMS education. In her current role at Fisdap, Leah is responsible for the timely development and delivery of consistent, valid, reliable, high-quality EMS exams. Leah received her Doctorate in Education from Baylor University in Waco, TX, and her research interests include the use of flipped classrooms in EMS education and the pre-service training of EMS educators. Leah has been a co-author on several key research studies and a speaker and poster presenter at the National Association of EMS Educators, the EMS World Expo, and several other places. In addition, she is a NC Level II EMS Instructor, Rescue 3 International Swift Water Rescue Instructor, and an AHA BLS Instructor. In her free time, Leah is the mom of her 12-year-old son, who keeps her busy with archery and Boy Scouts; she’s an avid member of Burn Boot Camp; and a self-proclaimed reluctant runner.

Mr. Turpen has been engaged in Indiana EMS for 41 years, with 37 of this as a paramedic. He has been heavily engaged in EMS training and EMS quality improvement for the past 38 years. He has served AMR and predecessor companies for the past 36 years in educational delivery, care guideline development and process improvement functions. Mr. Turpen has also served since 2005 on the Indiana EMS Commission and has chaired the regulating body since 2012. He holds instructor certifications in CPR, ACLS, Wilderness First Aid, Stop the Bleed, Phalen 12-Lead, Handtevy Pediatrics, and Pediatric Abusive Head Trauma. Mr. Turpen recently retired from the IVY Tech paramedic sciences program, teaching each year from 1989 through 2023. Mr. Turpen served as a volunteer firefighter from 1983 to 2003. His specialty areas are cardiac resuscitation, 12-Lead ECG projects, EMS Fatigue, and EMS Leadership courses.

Eric is the EMS Chief for Yankton County EMS in Yankton South Dakota. He has been in EMS for 23years, 21 years as a paramedic. Previously Eric worked for Mountainview Health in Las Vegas in the paramedic program as well as Sanford Health based in Sioux Falls as Lead Simulation Specialist and EMS Educator and a former flight paramedic. His current roll not only supports EMS Education, but rural hospitals and providing education from nursing staff to all levels of providers in every aspect of patient care

Katie Watson has been an RN since 2012, beginning her career in Multi-Specialty Critical Care. She worked in Interventional Radiology at IU Health Methodist Hospital before joining the Trauma & Acute Care Surgery team in 2021 as a Clinical Nurse Navigator. Katie is passionate about improving the care of trauma patients and advocating for them during times of uncertainty.

Eric Williams is the Staff Chaplain for Emergency Medicine at IUH Methodist Hospital. He has served as a professional chaplain for the past twelve years and has published articles on staff care. He served as volunteer fire fighter and EMT for six years in upstate New York and eastern Kentucky.

A lifelong learner, Jeremy Williams is a passionate clinician and researcher whose interests explore the intersection of health/healthcare, communication, and psychology. Williams’s clinical experience spans many facets of EMS. As researcher, he has authored and presented original research about the communicative nature of the patient-provider relationship with specific interest in how media representations might impact patient-provider interactions, access to healthcare, and vaccination hesitancy. As an EMS educator, he has been invited to present on various topics regional and national conferences including the Critical Care Transport Medicine Conference, the Indiana Perinatal Collaborative Transport Conference, and FDIC.

Ryan serves in the role of director at Reid Health, responsible for EMS, Emergency Preparedness, Hospital Safety, Forensics and Trauma Services. Ryan has been an emergency nurse for 23 years and has served in EMS for 28 years and has experience in pre-hospital medicine, emergency and trauma nursing and served as a flight nurse/paramedic for 10 years. He continues to serve his community volunteering for his local fire department in the rank of Captain. Ryan is a member of the conference planning committee with memberships in both the Indiana Emergency Nurses Association and the Indiana EMS Association. Ryan is also a member of the Air and Surface Transport Nurses Association and served on the Indiana Trauma Care Committee for 10 years.

Dr. Eric Yazel has been medical director for numerous EMS services in the Kentuckiana area, both urban and rural in nature. He currently serves as the EMS Medical Director for the State of Indiana. In addition, he also holds positions as an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Louisville, Attending Physician at Norton Clark Emergency Department, Clark County Health Officer, Chief Medical Officer for LifeSpring Health Systems, and Chief Tactical Physician for the Jeffersonville Police Department. He has numerous publications and presentations, Including the Journal of Emergency Medicine and other peer reviewed journals, with a focus on mobile integrated health, substance use disorder, and out of hospital cardiac arrest.
